Godzilla 1954 (Shodai-Goji) - (G-15)
After over ten years of producing Godzilla toys, Bandai in 1999 finally released a vinyl Godzilla 1954. And though we had to wait quite a while to get him, it certainly has been worth it.Godzilla is, like the rest of the Toho Kaiju figures, scaled at 6 inches. He is a deep grey with lighter highlights on the head, chest, knees, claws and toes. The figure is accurate down to the suitmation wrinkles, most noticable here on the (our) right knee.In 2001, at the Tsuburaya Festival in Japan two special variations of the figure were issued. The first was a translucent gray ("smoked") version, which was limited to 5000 pieces. The second is a translucent brown ("sepia") version which had a pressing of only 3000.In 2001 the figure was reissued as a part of the Movie Monsters series. In it, Godzilla sports a slightly different paint style and a new tag.
