With the 2000 release of Godzilla X Megaguirus in Japan came not one but two theater-exclusive figures, Godzilla and the new villain Megaguirus, instead of the usual one. The Megaguirus Exclusive is 7 inches long with a 10 inch wingspan, and like the Godzilla 2001 exclusive comes with a non-folding tag but with a blue instead of gold background. Rather than being translucent Bandai opted for a repaint of the standard Megaguirus that came with this year's Bandai Godzilla v. Megaguirus box set. The standard figure is mostly brown, but the theater exclusive version has silver and black with blue wings, a silver & black underside with silver legs & mandibles tipped in red. The body is a reddish-brown with black & blue highlights, and unlike the standard version's white teeth, the exclusive's teeth are painted brown/black. Megaguirus came in a plain white box.The figure comes with Bandai's return to a non-folding tag - the Megaguirus tag has a blue background on the front image, while the back has much of the text usually associated with Bandai figure tags. One important thing to note, though, is the absence of the Bandai serial numbers, which have traditionally appeared on the tags and have been used in the past as a way to identify if one has the correct tag on earlier releases with a standard tag image (for example the Destroy All Monsters versions). The Megaguirus tag doesn't have the Bandai gold sticker since it was on the box.
