Marmit Vinyl Figures
Marmit first came to the attention of collectors when the company launched its Vinyl Paradise series, an extensive line of nine inch monster figures based on classic Toho and Daiei studios films, as well as the long running Ultraman series. Though fans were impressed with the number of kaiju characters represented, opinions about the actual sculpts varied widely. Some collectors loved Marmit's unique, cartoon like style, while others complained that the figures were poor likenesses. Some occasional quality lapses is Marmit's earlier production runs didn't help the manufacturer's reputation.
Beginning in 2001, however, Marmit won over many of the critics by releasing the first Toho Studio kaiju characters in its new Para Baby series. These six inch figures, each of which comes packed with a smaller bonus figure, reflect a more realistically proportioned style and much more attention to detail.
Most recently, Marmit introduced a third new figure line called the Monster Heaven series. These larger models measuring around ten inches in height are the most realistically sculpted figures the manufacturer has produced to date and have quickly become fan favorites. Offering collectors no less than three distinctly different product lines to chose from, Marmit has earned its reputation as one of the most popular and prolific manufacturers of kaiju vinyl figures.
