Baragon

Baragon

Released in 1996, this first version of Baragon was an instant fan favorite. Personally, I think this has to do with the fact that, despite next to zilch screen time, he has always been popular in Japan, and the fact that, well, he's pretty darn cute.

An interesting side note is the fact that, as the actual body of the costume was reused in both Ultra Q and Ultraman, for the monsters Pagos, Neronga, Magura, and Gabora, so was the body of the Marmit figure used to create the same monsters in vinyl. As a result, the copyright markings for each company (Toho or Tsuburaya Productions) appear on the neck. Here's the marking on Baragon.

Baragon's header card is, of course, of the original style. A second style Baragon was issued in late 1998, in conjunction with a Marmit Frankenstein, his opponent in Frankenstein Conquers the World.
