Bandai BATO, RADO, and MOGE-Goji Figures
By Richard Cox (2001)
Between 1992 and 1994, Bandai issued the same mold for the Heisei Godzilla three seperate times, one each for Godzilla v. Mothra (1992, BATO-Goji), Godzilla v. MechaGodzilla (1993, RADO-Goji), and Godzilla v. SpaceGodzilla (1994, MOGE-Goji). While, on the surface, these three figures appear to be identical, there are several differences that make each figure stand apart.
In addition to the below-noted differences in the chart, one should also be aware that the MOGE-Goji sports a gatefold tag, the first that Bandai released in conjunction with Godzilla series figures. Also, some early issues of the MOGE-Goji were actually produced in hard vinyl like the others. It was soon after these figures hit that Bandai switched over to softer vinyl.
